The Boldhart story began with the purchase of Ch Dyindy Red Baron ( Rocky ) in 1983 who was purchased purely as a pet via the Age Newspaper. When I went to see the litter of puppies and there were 9 little red cuties running around my heart was lost forever.

He was the first Stafford that I exhibited in 1985 he had the honour of being the first Staffordshire Bull Terrier in Victoria to win a Best in Show All Breeds at the Royal Melbourne Showgrounds and then went on to win a second Best Exhibit All Breeds . This was a rarity in those days as Staffords were a relatively unknown breed and at a show you would perhaps have 6 Staffords. You would walk down the street and people would ask " What kind of dog is that?"

I must also add that not all showing was successful. At one very large show at the showgrounds Rocky was refused a challenge by a Scandinavian judge not long after he had won BIS. He was not alone on this day - from memory there were another 3 dogs there including the well known dog Jehard the Arapaho.

Rocky mated to Ch Landaulad Miss Muffet (Harley) and produced the first Boldhart Champion, Ch Boldhart Mr Tippett who went on to win multi Best Exhibit in Show All Breeds. A great winning dog of his time.

Rocky also was mated to her half sister Ch Borstaff Luvvakiss ( Tootsie ) and it is from this litter that I kept Ch Boldhart Prisy Prunela - My absolute pride and joy and the great strength behind all Boldhart staffords of today.
